Intimate Island Wedding

Phöenix and Justin Kelley are beautifully talented musicians who reside on Salt Spring Island. When they contacted me about their wedding, they let me know it would be an intimate gathering of about twenty people; family, and friends that were as close as family.
They held it at a private venue on the the northern coast of Salt Spring Island. Phöenix's mother sewed her wedding dress. The flowers were grown by the owner of the land where Phöenix and Justin live. A delicious dinner was catered by Brody Paine, at Chef Paine & Co. The cake was made by Austen Brown at The Salty Whisk.
I was absolutely honored to photograph this wedding where everyone shared such a deep love for one another. I hope all the photos of hugs, and tears, and endearing glances, conveys some of this. For a wedding blog post I usually share lots of images in a format that is easy to scroll - if you would like to take a slower pace with these images, press one, and a slide show gallery will open for you. If you are considering a smaller wedding, perhaps some of these images will inspire.

You can find Phöenix’s music http://www.phoenixlazare.com (which features a number of photos Phöenix and I made together) and Justin’s music can be found at Hownd. You can listen to their collaborative project, Fawkes & Hownd at http://www.fawkesandhownd.com. I am excited to see Fawkes & Hownd play on May 18, 2023 at the Mateada, on Salt Spring Island.

I thought I would add one link to a song that Phöenix and Justin made together. Word on the street is they may have some new recordings coming our way soon… so stay tuned.

Much happiness and inspiration to these two wonder-beings on their journey.
I can’t wait to listen to more of their love story!
