Metchosin Family Session
What a wonderful family! I had the best time making these images. I tried some new strategies and approaches for this session, which I will likely continue applying, when I can, to family photos. Running, dancing, playing, creating scenes.. The further we all went into the session, the freer we all became. I will share some of my favourites at the top of this post, and a slideshow with a more full set below, for those contemplating a family session.

I like this one especially as it includes the old family piano being left to the elements.

Creatures
If you have any furry or feathered loved ones in your life, I will do my best to include them in the session. I love when I get a chance to get a good portrait of them as well.

In the past, maybe this photo wouldn’t have risen to the top of my choices as they are talking - but the way he looks at her! And I know she feels the same. Earlier in the session I asked her to think of her favourite event, thing, place or person in her life, and her face became very peaceful. I asked if she could tell me what she was thinking of, and she said, “my brother.”
Everyone Together
Every family makes its own shape. Every family has its own favourite jokes and songs. Every family has its own way to dance, and if your family doesn’t know yours yet, maybe we’ll find it.
Fun.
So grateful to this beautiful family for being open to an adventure, and trying new things, and having a good time with me.
